Paper Rose Project

These are some of the paper roses made that evening....

It was a success!  We had over 40 participants at the Tomoko Lipp Paper Rose workshop at Ruth's Table.  Tomoko, her friend Gladys, Monica Lee and I taught everyone how to make them.  Everyone went away with their own wonderful roses.  Lola Fraknoi and Megan of Ruth's table gave us a great meal.

Ready, Set, Go...

The 8 girlfriends...they all did a wonderful job and all made 2 flowers!

Everyone was asked to help their friends after they learn to do the roses. 
So here is Lily helping out some of the Bethany House residents.

My Mom

She has been the most wonderful Mother.  Now she is slowing down with a little Alzheimers and almost 90 years old.  She may not be able to remember everything and do what she did 5 years ago, but she has the most pleasant and positive attitude.  Sometimes she'll remember things that I am surprised she does.

She came to San Francisco to see my new granddaughter and her great granddaughter.  We also took family photos that afternoon but this one was taken in front of my house by Monica Lee.  What a influence Mom has had on all of us in the family, from keeping our minds and bodies active and creative,  and honest to ourselves and those around us.  I have loved her dearly all the 70 years of my life.   She and my Dad helped make my rainbow to my pot of gold...a wonderful life.

In Training

Tomoko Lipp gave us a private lesson on how to make the paper rose so that we could help in teaching the free workshop at Ruth's Table on Friday evening, December 2.  It was really fun and surprising what little tools and materials are needed to make a beautiful flower.
