Ring Mountain Nature Sketching

With John Muir Laws of the Nature Sketching group and Laurie Wigham of SF sketchers meetup group, we headed to Ring Mountain in Corte Madera on a beautiful May day.

This is the Soap Plant that is growing in abundance all over the mountain.  None of the flowers were in bloom.  The Miwok Indians used it to make soap, as a colorant and a stupifying agent.
The Soap plant finally begins to bloom in the afternoon.  Here is one opened waiting for pollination.
