Holiday Cookie Exchange

Leslie Flores gives a fantastic party each year with a Holiday Cookie Exchange with her girlfriends (plus some hubbys and children) with the help of her husband Mark and daughters.  Good food and drinks for all and lots of cookies to take home.  She provides the take home boxes and wraps.  It was so much fun.  These were my contribution this year, thumb cookies all packaged with recipes and label attached. Thumbs Up for Happy Holidays!

BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook promo at the TechShop

Burda at the Techshop had many different groups; Spoonflower, Britex, and Skillshare.  Each group had projects to make: Britex with bow neckties and slippers, Skillshare with lego jewelry and Spoonflower with a tie string bag.  We even got our picture taken with the DNP DS40 photo machine in 1 minute and a Burda bingo contest for a Baggu nylon shopping bag.  Great sandwiches by the American grilled Cheese Kitchen.  Creme brulee from the Creme Brulee cart and cupcakes for dessert with wine and beer to drink..What fun!

Damage Control

We dropped the crop-a-dile during the workshop.  So, I am repairing it with glue and clamps.  I hope it works!

EcoWrap at FabMo

Sunday, December 11, Monica Lee and I gave a gift wrapping workshop at FabMo.  We used wallpaper, yarn, string, coffee filters, fabric swatches and samples.  Everyone was so creative.  See the photo...

Scrap Wrap at Scrap-sf

Megumi and Monica did it again.  They gave a super workshop at SCRAP-sf. on Saturday.

Monica and Megumi...what's the next step?
It was a scrap wrap workshop...how to wrap a gift with repurposed and reused items from the SCRAP store.  A success, everyone went home with great ideas to wrap their Holiday Gifts.

Everyone raise their Scotch brand adhesives that Megumi gave to wrap their gifts.

gifts so thoughtful, beautiful and creative...flowers, cards, computer fund and gift card plus a felted apple envelope....Yea!!!
==I was also treated to a birthday dinner by my family, the night before, and given more towards my computer fund..gee, what more can anyone want?  How about these sexy socks?  From Miya and family.  Thank you everyone!

EcoWrap Workshop at Fabmo

Monica Lee and I are giving a workshop again at FabMo on December 11.  I am preparing for it and this is a photo of all the stuff I am taking...is there anything left???  Monica also has a load.  She has all her Sizzix dies and Big Shot machine plus lots of samples.  I am also bringing my Sizzix dies and Martha Stewart punches. We are giving each participant a full bag of goodies besides the lesson and templates.  We will be reusing and re-purposing discarded books, maps, patterns, calendars, sewing materials and ribbon.  It will be fun!  I will post the results next week.

Paper Rose Project

These are some of the paper roses made that evening....

It was a success!  We had over 40 participants at the Tomoko Lipp Paper Rose workshop at Ruth's Table.  Tomoko, her friend Gladys, Monica Lee and I taught everyone how to make them.  Everyone went away with their own wonderful roses.  Lola Fraknoi and Megan of Ruth's table gave us a great meal.

We did it!  Thank you Tomoko and Lola!  me, Monica Lee, Tomoko, Megan and Lola

Ready, Set, Go...

The 8 girlfriends...they all did a wonderful job and all made 2 flowers!

Everyone was asked to help their friends after they learn to do the roses.
So here is Lily helping out some of the Bethany House residents.

And she didn't think she could do such a wonderful job!

She glowed with pride on the success of her flower.

Tomoko showed us how to make a gift box reusing soy milk cartons.
This is it with a paper rose.
